Retaliation and Annihilation. Bring on the DLC.

Been a while since I've left a decent post on here but here we go.

The latest DLC has been rumoured as being named Retaliation. A little less on that and a little more on the latest release;  Annihilation.

So I finished my studies and waiting for me was this map pack.

My opinions so far are this:

This happens to be the best map pack released to date, maybe better than first strike! Hazard, and drive in really have me sold; Hangar 18 is a very decent map but has very wide open spaces, Silo... again a decent map but most likely the worst of the lot due to the spawns. Although I have managed a decent K:D on it a few times now!

With regards to the latest zombie map; I am unable to give a decent review as I am awaiting Snorlax's arrival to play the map.

So what does Retaliation bring and what will it give us?

Now I have a horrible sneaking suspicion that as so far the order of the DLC has been; Good, ok, Good... that the next DLC may only be O.K.

So can the names of the maps redeem themselves? Well no. Not really:

Mansion
Cargo
Harbour
and Metro.

Personally I like the sound of Metro and Mansion. However they all sound a bit samey.

The zombie map will be featured in area 51... or hangar 18. If you haven't played hangar 18 yet, get to it, you won't be disappointed.

The release date looks to be the first Tuesday of September - 06/09/2011. So good news for all you young-uns heading back to school/college... looks like those school nights won't be so drab.

Anywho I'm off to play some Hazard with my crazy sniping skills... oh check out Snorlax's Sniping on hazard the other day... it'll make you smile inside.

Round of applause for me

I have officially done it, i have reached 15th prestige in a very respectful time of 12 days and 7 hours. Now just 50 more levels to go before im the highlest possible level in the game and the highest level i've reached in any COD game so good news all round. Bring on the ever so tacky gold camo now xD i've pretty much been playing solid since 5pm, and i've raced through the last 10 levels. In that time i managed to get 2 gold camo's. Mpl and psg1.

My eyes are in need of some serious rest so night y'all

DLC 3!!!!!

Morning all, it's finally that time again (even though it doesn't feel that long since escalation popped up) that the third black ops DLC is being rolled out within the last 57 minutes.
Unfortunately enough i'm at work at the moment so i cannot actually write a hands on review, so all i can do for now is count down the hours until i can punch out and fly home as fast as i can to play :'(
From what i know so far the the multiplayer maps are called the following;
-Hangar 18
-Silo
-Drive In
-Hazard
I going to be blunt, escalation sucked for me, i really didn't like it and given the chance if they pop up in the normal playlists i always vote against them, and NEVER play the actual escalation playlist anymore.
So it is really important to me trayarch redeem themselves and make this map pack better than first strike which in my opinion was amazing!
Can't really say much else for now until i have played them myself so i'm going to get back to work an hopefully time will fly by.
Oh and update on me , 14th prestige 36, just got myself a gold mpl...yeah boiii!!

BLOPS oOo SnorLaX oOo progress update

So it's that time again when i brag some more, i've recently reached 14th prestige so it's time to start saving for those magical golden camo.
My current playtime is just under 12 hours so not bad going in terms of reaching 15th prestige.
I'm hoping to get to 15th before the clock ticks over to 13 hours.

Another change to my class set ups recently, i've now switched my beloved hsrdline for scavenger, simple because i can easily reach blackbird without hardline and i've found myself using mpl a lot more. Whack on some rapid fire and the ability to pick up ammo and you've got yourself a deadly weapon.

Not currently at home so i can't play right now but i will keep the updates coming with regards to reaching 15th. Fingers crossed mutha truckers

News, News and more News today

Morning all, a lot to report today snd since i'm not at work today i'm going to catch you guys up with the latest MW3 news.
So first things first,
Infinity ward has officially confirmed via twitter that there will in fact be no co op campaign in MW3, i'm sure this will sadden the heart of many fans. I myself do not actually care because i'm more of a MP Fan myself however What's the reason behind this, well at present there hasn't been an official statement as to why they pulled the plug on co op.

Second piece of news Today is craig fairbrass the voice of ghost in MW2 is definitely returning in mw3. Whether or not he will be playing ghost is still abit of a mystery since in cod4 he voiced gaz.

So thats all for iSuk news, notuch to report on blsck ops since i haven't been online in a few days. One thing i will say is, i am slightly regretting buying escalation, i don't think its the maps that are putting me off, but the fact there encouraging campers.

So it's half 11 here in the UK, that's pm, and i just realised haven't updated in awhile..there is so much to talk about but not enough time to report it all.
so basically the biggest news is the release of the MODERN WARFARE 3 TRAILER

i for one, cannot flipping wait after seeing this, i was getting all giddy like a school girl watching this and couldn't wait to share, so i sent it straight to my partner in crime ShoooRn94.
In terms of what we can expect....Full blown global war, oh yes, it will be like nothing you have seen before, and hopefully unlike the previous COD's where they claim to be the best yet, this will blow the competition right out of the water.
The obvious competition this year, is battlefield 3, any forum/blog/message board you go on, it's an ongoing argument, which is better, which has better graphics, which has better gameplay etc etc,. the list goes on, needless to say i'm a COD guy myself and will be queueing at midnight to get MW3, however i'm not completely one sided, i will be getting BF3, just probably not at a midnight launch, as i don't care as much for it.
Also in MW3 related news, unlike the previous years, so far there is not a WII version, and according to infinity ward, there won't be this year..

Judging from BO WII gameplay it's doing them a favour LOL..but that's a whole other story.

So the question on my mind is, Should there be a MW3 BETA?
Yes-Because after the disaster that was black ops, and still they are releasing patches to fix problems, it could only benefit infinity ward to release a BETA
No-because we like the excitement we get from queueing at midnight to get that release.

day off work today so it seems i'm either on COD or on this, 

and was checking the older posts and my  very first post i mentioned how i would keep a constant update on how i'm progressing in the MP.

Well that failed miserably so i'm going to try again, as of 6/4/11 at 12.54 pm this is my updated combat record.

So i have obviously been busy on COD, rising a whole 6 prestiges since my last update..however quite a lot has changed since back then, instead of AK47 with silencer, i now use either FAMAS with Dual Mags or Galil with Dual Mags/Silencer, and secondary weapon is a balistic knife.

My claymore has not changed to a motion sensor as well.

The perks is the biggest change for me since i always used to use the same, hardline pro, slight of hand pro and ninja pro, now however i use hardline pro, sleight of hand pro and hacker, something i never thought i would use, but i do have good reasoning behind it, basiclally i'm a claymore magnet, every game guaranteed i would run over several and it would make me RAGE, so now i've started using that i've noticed my k/D has shot up..

oh one more thing,

and the rest are below a 100.

Lag Issues Tonight, On and Off Host WTH??

Like most evenings i'm playing away on COD and i have to switch off for a bit, then when i come back on, 6 games in a row i experience intense lag without any host migrations, now what really annoys me is, in one of the later games it did host migrate to me, even playing on my own host with full green bar there was serious lag issues for everyone. Now i checked both computers and neither running or seeding anything out of the ordinary, so i went back on, just for it to keep happening.

I browsed the net for a while and noticed other people having this issue tonight, so my question is, WTH treyarch, xbox has pretty much had no major issues until now, and this disappoints me very much so. On my own host even on ground war i host a perfect game.

I would like to think by the time I finish this post the issue will have been resolved, and I can get back on the game.

Modern Warfare 3 announcement EXPECTED this month

Okay so not to get anyones hopes up but looking back over the past few years the general rule of thumb is announcement in april and release set in november. So this post it not really anything special, i just wanted tp bring light to those of you who hadn't already figured out we should be due for an announcement, at the moment everything seems to be pretty tight lipped, and to my surprise no one had managed to 'leak' any info with regards to it.

Escalation map pack 'leaked'

So yes it's that time again, the second map pack for black ops has been leaked onto the net, according to a source it was leaked onto an australian game website but swiftly pulled off. Apparently not quick enough though.

30 Seconds of Berlin wall

Well as promised here is the latest clip of Berlin wall, I will conjure up a clip focussing on the other four maps, but as the COD theatre is so fussy it appears you can't dowload the clips to your harddrive and make a youtube video montage from the numerous 30sec clips it allows you to upload. Which is a bit poor.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to upload decent clips to youtube (i.e. the best capture cards on the market atm, then please send through some tips!

Double experience weekend! 4th till the 6th.

So it has been a long time coming but this weekend will be double experience weekend. This time it's confirmed, and cheers to oOo Snorlax oOo for doing the research behind this one.

So what does that mean? Well what it should mean for all you who play HQ and play HQ well is that you'll be racking up experience points in the region of 20,000 a game! If only they made it double Cod points too, now that would be interesting.

As for me (ShoooRn94) I'll be on saturday evening, and maybe a bit on sunday evening to try to make the most of this xp!

I hope this pleases many, I'll get back to playing the new maps. In the meantime check out this knife to your crotch technique.

First Strike DLC release day

So the release day is today. We all frantically wait for the DLC and it's release.

Sadly myself and oOo snorlax oOo decided it would be a wise idea to stay up past midnight GMT in order to try and download... Treyarch wouldn't honour us Brits would they? Tssk. Typical.

Well the official release time was 10am GMT here in the UK. But as far as my storefront is telling me there is no such thing as DLC for blops. However the xbox.com marketplace says different.

We will be grabbing a few vids with any luck this evening of some gameplay on the maps and some screenshots for a few blogs so that you PS3 guys know what you're in for in March.

Black Ops - First Strike Trailer

More First Strike news. God this looks good, only just received the email about this from our good friends at Treyarch but I will be analysing this in full detail in a few hours after a good sleep.

Need I say more? Looks like it could offer alot more opportunities for snipers on berlin wall and Discovery. And the interactive environments look epic too; check out the auto turrets and the exploding bridge! I wonder if there's anything else in there for us to find.

Patch 1.06

Patch 1.06 is just days away and so i felt it right to give you guys abit of information on whats to be expected.
The main things we can expect to see a change in are,

The AK47u with grip will have the re-center speed adjusted, at the moment its too quick and even though its beneficial to us it will make it slightly harder to keep a good killstreak if you can't aim on target as quick.

Changes to Kill Credits: In simple terms this means the person who floors their victim and said victim seems to be using Second Chance, where as before someone could come in for the cheap kill and you would be left standing with just as assist :/ yeah i know its harsh but that wont be the case for long. After the 1.06 patch the person who steals the kill will take the assist.
For me this is going to be what makes the newest patch worth having, as every day i feel like rage quitting when i keep getting my kills stolen just because people feel the need to use second chance.

Changes to the RC car, okay this isn't a definite as different sites seem to have opposite sources, so at present its just a rumour but the minimum and maximum damage radius will be evaluated and possibly reduced and there could even be a tweak to the speed.
Now i can't speak for everyone but i for one would love to see the actual amount of kills needed to acquire the RC car increased however treyarch have said "Changing the kill requirement isn't feasible at this time" :((


I was hoping for a lot more but at least its something.

Kowloon could be interesting.

Yes it's me again. Two posts in one day? Utter madness, you'd think I was a student or something.

Anyway, on quickly pottering around the internet it appears that Kowloon as mentioned below in Snorlax's post is one of the most recently added maps to the DLC with the 4 other maps being viewable on the disk amongst the hidden data that only the techno-freaks know how to find.

As we all know Kowloon isn't quite a "hidden" map considerring you play it within the single player and it most definitely was one of my favourite parts of the single player. It will be an enclosed environment at a guess and most likely will have a few tiers.

What would be epic however is the balcony shootout section being the main base of the map (where you had to run between balcony's before falling to the floor) it could supply a few choke points and could be a good section for snipers. If it is just quite enclosed I can see it being sub machine gun heaven.

One thing I love about this Call of duty is that of the activity outside the maps (the missile on launch, the train on WMD, the saws on radiation etc.) I wonder whether the plane seen in Kowloon will make an appearance in the map? We can only hope.

Famas' everywhere.

So I've just returned from my holiday to Paris! After getting stopped at every security check-in I realised that carrying an Ak through border control was a bad move. None the less I have returned to Britain and picked up my controller last night to join snorlax for a quick game.

One thing that was obvious in France was the mass of soldiers carrying famas-es! The weapon of France most definitely. Think about how patriotic you're being to the French the next time you choose the famas within your loadout.


In other news:

From what myself and snorlax have discovered our K:D's are suffering a bit on Cracked. A map with large open spaces complicated by smaller enclosed spaces with dead end rooms and camping spots. We've also taken to playing sabotage quite a bit recently which not only helps by keeping the spawns pretty standard and set goals that the entire team can push forward for. The only problem I feel with sabotage is that it can be over very quickly. Also only having an attempt from one spawn can be a bit annoying over time when you've pushed forward many times and the entire team seems incapable of pushing forward with you.

Anywho to help any of you in the same situation as this here is a map that could well come in use:

First Strike Map Pack

Since it has been officially announced now, i should really go into a little more detail about it.
On the 1st of February 2011 Xbox 360 gamers will get the first taste of the new maps.
The actual DLC includes 4 new maps and one new zombie map
Berlin Wall
Discovery
Stadium
Kowloon
and of course the zombie map will be called Ascension
The map which stands out the most to me seems to be 'stadium', not much is known, however it appears to be in a hockey rink style stadium. Now i already have a picture in my head of what this will look like and i can imagine it being one of the smallest maps, perhaps even rivalling nuketown :O

Some sad news for you PS3 and PC gamers though, you won't be getting your hands on these new maps until about a month later.

My First Official Post.

Well Well Well, it has taken some time but I'm finally making my first post, it won't be anything special just general statistics on my account and a low down of how I play BUT first some good news.
The Very first Download Content for black ops has been given an official release date (2nd February 2011)
I'm sure a lot of you, myself included are overly excited for that DLC!!

My STATS
-TIME PLAYED: 3d 12h 4m
-Win/Loss Ratio: 1.09
-Kill/Death Ratio: 1.30
-Prestige:3

So where do I start then, well them stats aren't brilliant however I would say there above average as the amount of players I come cross on Black ops who have negative everything.
My Favourite weapon is the AK47 or the L96 (Even though i'm still practising with it)
It may seem abit common i chose the AK47, but undoubtedly this gun packs a punch and a half, it has the range and power to match most weapons, yet at the same time it doesn't let you down when you need accuracy.

I also say the L96, not because I'm amazing with it, but because i really admire the weapon, and aim to master it before the next COD game (as i'm sure ShoooRn94 does as well :p)

My most used class as I write this post is an AK47u with grip, M1911, semtex, willy pete and jammer..and then Perks...Ghost, sleight of Hand Pro and Ninja!

This Is mainly due to the fact i haven't unlocked a gun that i am overly fond of at this point.

When i play by myself its mainly FFA, There is not big bias reason behind this, just something i have done with most FPS, however i do enjoy a good team game when ShoooRn94 is online, with us mostly playing TD or HQ.

Anyway I am going to play now so i can actully blog about my time on the game today, rather just some ramblings about stats and information you probably already knew.

Been a while.

So it's the first Monday of the year into 2011 and oOo Snorlax oOo is travelling back home where internet exists. It's been a while since he's been home on his own machine so I have no doubt he's looking forward to it.

Which brings me to todays major post: we will be online from around 9pm today (3/01/2011) invite either myself or oOo snorlax oOo to join you and we'll most likely ask you to have a game of team tactical or similar.

In the meantime snorlax remains seated in the back of a vehicle heading northwards. Whether or not he's travelling via black ops edition jeep wrangler is something of a mystery:

Mind you I am curious as to how many of these special editions wranglers have been sold so far.
